Sometding Fishy Seafood in Wilmington

Good seafood. Good staff. Charming atmosphere. My family and I stopped by Something Fishy after a day trip to Carolina Beach. It reminded us of the Mayflower restaurant that we are use to in Raleigh, NC. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Nice, casual place to get seafood that is reasonably priced.

The food was wonderful. Very freah tasting and they dont add any salt and only use flour for the coating. I will definately go back and highly recommend this place to every seafood lover!

We usually eat here or get carry out a couple of times a month. The food is always good and tastes fresh. The seafood is better here than it is at those famous Calabash places! The hush puppies are the best in town and so hard to keep your hand out of the hush puppy basket! We always take out of town visitors to Something Fishy for seafood!

A very friendly atmosphere, with wonderful and prompt service. It was a wonderful experience!

Polite service. Fresh, yummy food that is still hot when you get home with it. Just wish they would discontinue use of styrofoam!

Wilmington have always been that place to experience the great environment of beach Waters an fabulous scene and great food!! This place awesome great food and they diffently not shy with the shrimp plates an fish great seasoning, healthy portion..Staff? They welcome you with the brightest smiles and very respectful..love this place food ,staff an environment!!!

My friend recommended this restaurant to us and it was delicious. The shrimp, scallops, oysters and flounder was all good. The hushpuppies came out hot and with a touch of honey butter we couldn't have asked for better. We will definitely be back!

Great, get the sampler platter. Well worth the price. Then go to the beach and enjoy the meal.

Great for Calabash style seafood. But if you are looking for more modern healthy seafood, don't go here. This place does what it does very well. Don't try to make it something else.

Flavorless, Old Tasting, and overpriced. Flavorless - A little salt and pepper would go a long ways. Flounder tasteless (Skin is left on), Fries flavorless, Corn - was boiled in water without any seasoning. Shrimp is not de-veined. Old Tasting - Hush puppies tasted old an stale. (Sitting under a heat lamp texture). Fries tasted old and soggy. (Sitting under a heat lamp texture). Overpriced - $37 for two plates of poor quality food. Food is not freshly made for the most part. Seafood places are a dime a dozen in this area. Will not be going back here again. Guy Fiery - Poster of Guy visiting and approving. I bet they made fresh food was made to ensure good quality taste and texture. But for the "other" customers...you can expect low quality food.

Great place. Have been here years ago. Still good. They even have steamed and it is good also. Not cooked to death. Nothing fancy very simple menu! Robin us the best waitress. You want be disappointed in her. 👍👍👍❗

I absolutely love Something FISHy!! Their gluten free shrimp gives me something to smile about! Let's me feel a little normal when it comes to food as well!! Delicious and I love the customer serve!!!

Got the steamed scallops very good fried shrimp good the corn not so good french fries could be better. Neat place way better than they use to be. Seen Guys picture hanging up when he visited few years ago.

Saw this place on Diners, Drive Is, and Dives and knew we had to visit. My wife had the flounder and fried shrimp platter with coleslaw and fries. I had the fried shrimp platter with corn on the cob and a boiled red potatoe. It was all very delicious! Their hush puppies are fabulous! Gumball sized and flavorful. Seafood was fresh and perfectly fried. Their cocktail sauce is fantastic! I had a cup of the clam chowder. Delicious and creamy, and flovored perfectly. Brad was our waiter. He did an excellent job taking care of us. Highly recommend this place when you visit Wrightsville Beach or Wilmington, NC. We will be back.

Nothing fancy from the outside, but you don’t need fancy for fabulous food. Clean restaurant with friendly service. Generous portions of traditional calabash style seafood. Perfect amount of breading with no greasy residue on the plate. Highly recommended & glad we stopped here.

From the time you pull up for curbside the service was outstanding! Staff was efficient, professional and quick. For was cooked to order - very fresh. THANK YOU for the gluten free menu 🙌🏾👏🏾👌🏾 shrimp, flounder, green beans and homemade coleslaw 😋

Better than your average fried seafood restaurant. I'm especially fond of their batter. It has a bit more crispness not soggy like a lot of places. The prices are fair for the portion sizes. My only complaint would be they were stingy on the condiments for takeout. If I'm picking up $30 worth of food I don't want to get home and it have enough cocktail sauce.

Portions are huge for the price! Loved the hush puppies and the seafood was good; just not 5-star good. We were visiting from out of town and ended up going two days in a row. Service was fantastic on day one. I can’t say the same for the second visit.

They said it would be 15 minutes and we ended up waiting an hour. They gave our food to someone else by accident and then the manager yelled at us for asking for extra ketchup. Our order was brought out at three different times and they still forgot our drinks. The food was horrible. The French fried were rubbery and our shrimp burgers were basically fried shrimp on a Great Value bun. They couldn’t even throw in lettuce or tomato. They’ve been doing take out for some time so there’s no good excuse. I understand mistakes happen, but just apologize and own up to them. Don’t yell at people who are simply trying to get their order right. I paid $11 for a burger that wasn’t worth $5 and service that’s was well below average.

I enjoy the quiet atmosphere and pleasant staff. Service is always quick and accurate. The food is reasonably priced and delicious. I would highly recommend this place..

My Friend and I went here by recommendation from a relative. It was absolutely awesome. We enjoyed the food and it was very clean and friendly. Not dressy...just down to earth folk. We felt welcomed. Still had a generous amount to take home even though we split our plate and ate really well. Thumbs up!

This is mine and my boys' favorite stop on the way back home from our day trips to the beach. Great fried seafood and reasonably priced. If you are leaving Carolina Beach and want some seafood before going home, definitely recommend this place.

This place was great. I don't like eating fish at the beach because it has a watery taste to it. But it was really good. The French fries and hushpuppies were great too

Wow! Food was amazing! All three of us got the sampler. So much food, I'll be eating it as 3 meals. Waitress was sweetband helpful. Highly reccomend.

We loved the seafood. Not overcooked and large portions. The hush puppies were amazing as was the clam chowder. I was not a fan or the green beans or the slaw. My son and husband got the okra and loved it. Great service and very clean.

This place is amazing. We found it randomly and then realized it was on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. It is a very low key casual place, but the service and the food are outstanding. If you are wanting some quality fresh seafood with the best hush puppies and very friendly on point servers. Pricing is so affordable for the quality of food. I highly recommend this place. We had a party of 12 with kids and it was a great environment for that.

Hungry for good old fashion Southern fish and hush puppies? This is the place...large portions and absolutely the friendliest people who want to make your visit a pleasant one! I have eaten there several times as a tourist but will soon be eating there as a new resident...great job, neighbors!

The food was amazing! The service was a little crazy, with having to do curbside service, but they were friendly. I will definitely be back.

Absolutely wonderful! Went in with very high expectations after reading the reviews and was not disappointed. Reminds me of trips to Calabash NC as a young boy with my family. Light crispy better, seafood really takes the spotlight. The Flounder was some of the best I've ever had, the shrimp were plump and meaty, very fresh, and the oysters and scallops were just divine. Can't wait until my next trip to Wilmington. Staff also shines, friendly without being pushy, very comfortable. Felt right at home, my favorite feeling in a restaurant.

Small and unassuming this restaurant offers what is best of coastal towns with fresh seafood and friendly service. With an assortment of seafood dishes and a few turf items for land lovers Something Fishy caters to all taste at a reasonable price.

The sampler plate. My husband and I split this plate. So much delicious food... we still had a full to go plate to take home. Something Fishy has always been a summertime family tradition.

We are new to the area and have been looking for a good seafood place. We are from an area known for great seafood/fish camps, and we have had problems finding anything comparable. Well we found it here and it was way better than we expected!! Only problem was we couldn't get through on the phone, but that's an indication that many were trying to call in to order. We can't wait to take our family and friends when they come here to visit.

They came out and took my order it was great food and very short wait. Good potions couldn't eat it all. The. Only thing is they Did not have it posted on door not to go inside.... But they were nice about it and practiced great Covid precautions.

Excellent Seafood restaurant. Our first time, but not the last. Relaxing atmosphere. Friendly staff. We loved the Fried Scallops the most. Also the Hush Puppies, Fried Flounder & Clam Strips. Our waiter was great.

First time my husband and I went to this restaurant was in 2009 on our honeymoon this was our 3rd time in the last ten years. Now back again with our 3 children and it was still amazing! Kid friendly place and very affordable! Anytime we come to Wilmington we know exactly where to go with out a doubt! The staff is always friendly as well!

The fish and shrimp were excellent. The slaw was good not great. The hush puppies were very good but I prefer onion chips in my hush puppies. The tartar sauce was too tangy and tasted like bought tartar sauce. French fries were typical.

Everything was great.......well, the fried oysters and the tartar sauce weren't the best to me but to each his own. Everything else was excellent in my opinion. Great wait staff as well. Hometown feel with a cozy atmosphere. I would definitely do a return trip. Thank you Something Fishy
